Galaxy Nails!
I love space, so I am super in love with galaxy nails, and they are so easy to do, and they don't require any nail art tools, just a sponge which you can usually find in your house. (they are even easy to do with your non-writing hand!)
What you'll need:
- Base Coat
- Top Coat
- Black Polish
- Blue Polish
- Green Polish
- Orange Polish
- Glitter Polish
- A Sponge
Start by applying base coat.
Then paint all of your nails black.
Using a sponge (I an an art sponge but you can use a make-up sponge or a kitchen sponge), paint a small section of the sponge blue.
Then dab the blue onto the nail (not covering the whole nail).
Then repeat the sponging process with green and then orange, each time leaving some of the previous colour showing.
Then apply a glitter polish.
Finish with top coat.
Create the galaxies in different shapes and size on each nail.
Products used:
- Base coat - Strong Adhesion by China Glaze
- Top coat - Good to Go by Essie

- Blue - Blueberry Ice Cream by Barry M
- Green - Soft Green by Beauty Uk
- Orange - Satsuma by Barry M

- Sponge (can my an art sponge, make up sponge or even a kitchen sponge)

Over the past few days, I have seen a lot of Instagram post of people using an app to match the colour of their eyes to China Glaze polishes.
I was intrigued! So I got the China Glaze iPhone app, and it is awesome! You can browse different China Glaze polishes and you can 'Try It On' by putting the colour on a hand (which you set to your type of skin tone - so you can see the colour against your skin tone and set the length of the nails) and you can also take a picture of anything and it will give you polishes that match that colour! This is my favourite part of the app because it is perfect if you want to find a polish that matches the exact colour of an outfit or accessory. This is a great app if you love China Glaze polishes, and the best part, it's FREE! :)
'Try It On':
'Colour Match':
I did quite a few experiments with this part of the app, to see what colour polishes it would give me for different things in my house.
My eyes...
The colour of my bedroom wall...
A football...
A picture of the 'Tarantula Nebula' which was in a magazine I was reading (All About Space)...
I even tried it on a swatch of a different brand of nail polish (Barry M - Peach Melba)...

I recently purchased China Glaze's Strong Adhesion base coat & I love it!!
I brought this base coat because nail polish peels off of my nail really easily, and that is a pain, because when I spend a lot time on a design I want it to last. This base coat claims to help polish stay on longer than other base coats. When using this base coat my nail polish still slightly comes away at the tip and does eventually still peel off, but not for an extra couple of days which is awesome!
I highly recommend it if you want that extra day or with your manicure!
I put this base coat to the test against some of my other favourite base coats (which are all good at different things). The base coats I used for the test were:
1. China Glaze Strong Adhesion
2. OPI Nail Envy (nail strengthener)
3. Barbara Daly Goodbye Yellow (no yellow staining)
4. Barry M 3-in-1 (base coat, top coat & nail hardener)

I used each of these base coats one of my nails, then painted two coats of Barry M's Satsuma, and finished with my favourite top coat Good To Go by Essie.
Index finger: China Glaze Strong Adhesion
Middle finger: OPI Nail Envy
Ring finger: Barbara Daly Goodbye Yellow
Little finger: Barry M 3-in-1
Straight after painting my nails:
After 1 day:
(OPI was the first to start coming away at the tip)
After 2 days:
After 3 days:
After this 4 day test, China Glaze definitely came out on top, hardly any of the polish had come away from the tip of nail, compared too all of the others were you can very noticeably see the white of the nail showing.
I brought mine for £5.95 on Amazon :)

VW Camper nails!
This design is very detailed which makes it very time consuming, but it's so cute…
inspired by one of my favourite nail bloggers One Nail To Rule Them All (http://onenailtorulethemall.blogspot.co.uk)
What you'll need:
- Base Coat
- Top Coat
- White Polish
- Paints: Black, White, Grey & whatever colour you want your camper to be.
- Silver Polish
- Dotting Tools (multiple sizes)
- Detail Brush (very thin)
- Striper Brush
Start by applying base coat.
Then paint all of your nails white.
Using grey, paint 2 squares to be the windows.
Using whatever colour you want to be the colour of your camper, paint a thin curved line across your nail near the tip (but leaving a small section of white at the tip).
Then paint 2 more curved lines, coming from the middle of each side of the nail and meeting in the centre of the first curved line.
Then fill in these shapes.
Using a striper brush and silver polish, paint a thin curved line, matching the shape of the previous lines (but leaving a small section of white between this line and the colour of you camper).
Paint a small circle in the centre of your camper (you can also use a dotting tool for this).
Then add 4 small black dots inside the blue (or whatever colour you chose).
Using a very thin detail brush and white paint, create a small VW logo inside the circle.
Paint a black box in the middle of the white at the tip of the nail.
Outline both of the windows with black paint.
Add smaller silver dots inside the black dots to create headlights on the camper.
Using a very thin detail brush write on the license plate (the black box), this will be so small that you can hardly see it so it doesn't really what you write).
Paint a thin white line down the side of each of the windows, shiny bits!!
Finish with top coat.
On my thumb (as it is very short) I decided not to paint a camper but to paint a black VW logo in the centre of the nail, with a white background.
I did each of my nails in a different colour! :)
